by: Joshua on

17 people who were kidnapped last week by gunmen in Gwargwada-Sabo community in Gadabuke development area of Nasarawa have regained freedom.

One of the abducted persons said they raised N2,020,000 in addition to food items like grains and cooking oil among others for their abductors. The Nation reported that the poor abductees were directed to give grains while the bouyant ones parted with money depending on their financial status.

The victim also revealed that the kidnappers have informants who feed them on the social status of all their victims.

Nasarawa police spokesperson, ASP Ramhan Nansel who confirmed their release said;

” I don’t know whether ransom was paid, all I could say is that they released the captives due to the pressure by police men who were trailing them”.
