This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival’s parallel Directors’ Fortnight section. It’s also the last one to be curated by outgoing artistic/executive director, Edouard Waintrop, whose final selection is being announced this morning. Waintrop, who will be replaced by Paolo Moretti for 2019, has had an impactful run, strengthening and reinvigorating the offerings, routinely snagging films by Competition-ordained filmmakers and introducing new talent to the world stage. This year is expected to be no different. We’re updating the list below as the titles are unveiled, so check back. The Fortnight runs May 9-18.
