Meghan Markle’s ‘diva behavior’ denied in CBS special
Meghan Markle knew all about close pal Gayle King’s CBS royal special — but we’re told both she and Prince Harry didn’t participate in any “official capacity.”
King’s special, to commemorate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s one-year wedding anniversary and the birth of their new baby,Archie, aired Friday night.
It featured Markle’s longtime makeup artist Daniel Martin in tears as he insisted she is not a diva.
He told King in “Meghan and Harry Plus One”: “What’s so frustrating is that you hear these stories and there’s no truth to them. It’s not the same person. In the years I’ve known her, the years I’ve worked with her, she’s never had a diva fit, never. I think because I know her so well, and I know she doesn’t deserve all this negative press.”
Markle pals Jessica Albaand Janina Gavankar also spoke out.
We revealed that King, who filmed in Windsor, had a private, off-air visit with the Sussex family.
Buckingham Palace said: “The Duchess has not had any involvement in the CBS special, nor requested or given permission to friends to participate.”
King told “ET” this week:“I learned [that] they’re two people in love. We all knew that, but they have a baby coming in the first year and I think everybody loves a good love story. Meghan’s had some knocks in the media in the UK; that’s certainly not the case here. So we’re going to hear from her friends who know her well.”
