Kurt Cobain’s hospital gown from UK show is up for auction
The hospital gown famously worn by Kurt Cobain during Nirvana’s 1992 Reading Festival performance is up for auction.
Cobain — whose health was much-discussed in the media in the run-up to the show — appeared onstage at the British festival in a wheelchair wearing a gown and wig.
The late star pretended to collapse, then got up and performed a 25-songset that would later become a live album.“
The gown is highly collectible as a key piece that is instantly recognizable from the final UK performance by the band,” said Bobby Livingston of RR Auction. It’s estimated to sell for around $55,000.
The auction ends Thursday.
