Super Eagles head coach Salisu Yusuf says his intention is to qualify for the quarter-final as the Group C leader by beating Equatorial Guinea in today’s final game in the ongoing African Nations Championship in Morocco.
Nigeria is leading the group with four points ahead of Libya and Rwanda with three points respectively, and Super Eagles need an outright victory over Guinea to cement their top spot.
In a chat with SportingLife, Yusuf said his boys are focused and determined for the game.
“Equatorial Guinea has nothing to lose in this game and they will want to play for pride. We won’t be complacent in our approach to the game. The focus is to winthe game because we want to be the first and itis in our hand to fight to be the first in the group,” Yusuf said to SportingLife.
The former Enyimba of Aba manager added thathis boys have adapted to the harsh weather in Morocco and it won’t affect them.
“It is a nice environment. We feel like we are in Nigeria in Agadir. The weather here is friendly than what we experienced in Tangier. It is a nice thing for us here.”
